Writing and Math Requirement

The State of Florida requires that all students complete a writing and math requirement, formerly known as the Gordon Rule.

Writing Requirement: The distance education courses fulfill the writing requirement for the number of words indicated. In order to graduate, Florida college students must complete, with a grade of C or higher, courses that involve substantial writing totaling 24,000 words.

Math Requirement: Students must take six credits of course work in math at or above college algebra level.

Courses taken to fulfill writing and math requirements cannot be taken S-U.
